Jeremy Rowland has a lot of companies attached to his name. Bail Ponds, Pawn Shop, and Triple R Furniture. He truly knows his cliental by connecting his business model together and dominating his competition. He continuously innovates his work force with creative campaigns, brilliant rewards systems and engaging everyday with his customer base through his mobile apps.
We got the privilege to sit down with Jeremy and discuss how the mobile app works for him and the benefits he acquired when rolling this new feature into his everyday marketing strategy.
Jacob: Good afternoon Jeremy, Thank you just for jumping on a call with us today and taking time out of your busy day to talk mobile apps and the benefits that follow.
Jeremy: Of course my pleasure
Jacob: Tell us what it is like having a mobile app and how is has assisted you with your businesses.
Jeremy: Well, the app to us started out as a bail bonds and that was the first thing we did. What that did for us as the bails bonds company is that it gave us instant notification while giving the ability for our clients to go to court at use the app. They would ultimately be able to take photos of their continuance order, receipts for payments or even disposition papers and they submit that through the app. Knowing of the apps capability gave me that extra pull and that extra foot above the competition. The Pawn Shop was the next app we modeled out. This one has been huge for us.
Jacob: How so? Was it because of the Push notification feature? And if so do you think push notifications in your opinion can be a game changer in the apps functionality? Allowing your business to scale on higher marketing levels that don’t acquire extra marketing dollars?
Jeremy: Yes, with the push notification features we are able to build campaigns around our shops, fro example at 5am on Wednesdays (Woo Wednesday) at the pawnshop. We will send out a question using PN’s and tell our clients that whoever is the 22nd person to email or text us with the correct answer will win whatever price we have for that day. It also allowed us to promote sales and prices to people who have our app.
Jacob: What about the furniture app? How do you use the app for that store?
Jeremy: We exclusively use that app for additional savings on furniture, additional percentage off, money off, and free delivery. Let’s say we have a sectional priced at $899 but if the customer comes in and shows proof of the app then we will reduce the price to $799 with free delivery. To us this is everything. Frees up phones and allows us to continually interact with our customers. Now going back to the marketing dollars, well you can spend $400 – $600 dollars to put an add in the newspaper or you can spend only what you need for this app and market it right to your customers. What people forget is that everyone has a cell phone these days and as a business owner you need to understand how to make that connection with your market.
Jacob: With the features installed onto the app have you implemented geofencing to your customers? The great thing about the geofencing is you have the ability target around your establishment or even competitors establishments and push coupons that either pulls your cliental to you or away from competitors business.
Jeremy: Yes. We have utilized every single attribute that is on every one of our applications. The pawn cam is a huge thing for our customers. It allows them to take a picture of something they are trying to pawn or sell to us. We can look at it with out them having to load it up and drive 15-20 miles just to be told yes or no. We can gage it for them before they even make the trip. If anyone hears me on this and they’re not doing business with you, then they just don’t know business. Apps are were you need to be.
Jacob: We appreciate that very much sir and thank you for the support. We love that you understand the true value of applications. Especially with the multiple business ventures you are currently in.
Jeremy: I remember when you first contacted me for mobile apps. I was a little hesitant and my pride kept me away from it, but I will have to say this, it was the best money I spent to the month and I do not have a problem with that. If you do not utilize the app properly and don’t understand how each function works you will have trouble targeting market.
Jacob: What were your steps to understanding the app and approaching your marketing style to it?
Jeremy: The best way to answer that with me, in a meat and potatoes kind of stance, I took my shoes off as a business owner and allowed my self to be the customer I wanted to target. What would energize me, what would have my interest, and what would I want to participate in. After realizing this I grabbed our store managers and our great staff together and put a game plan together and here we are!
